Screenplay - Short Film
Life is full of choices. The ones you make, the ones you avoid. FREE BIRD follows a millennial woman as she approaches her 30s and experiences a second coming-of-age, navigating the changing expectations she has for herself. Inspired by the malaise of life in your late 20s and the angst of not being good enough, this story is an expression and contemplation of the heartache caused by desire and how hard it is to feel proud of the life you’ve chosen.

Julia and her husband Brian have taken in her older brother Sam, but when a year of getting back on his feet turns into three, they have to find a way to help him move on. His countless attempts at failing business ventures never seem to pay off and finally their recent pregnancy feels like the perfect catalyst to kick him out until they suffer a miscarriage. Boundaries broken and emotions frayed, they attempt to find a healthier way to love each other.
